Build Your Profile: Intro Video

Consider your intro video an amuse-bouche. It’s a free, small bite meant to arouse the senses and whet the patron’s appetite before eating (and paying for) the meal. With a profile video, your avatar comes alive, capturing users’ attention and encouraging them to click on your profile to see more. Here are a few tips for creating an engaging profile vid:

⏲️ Keep It Brief. Attention spans are short. Duh. Users are unlikely to spend a lot of time hovering over a single avatar. Grab them in the first few seconds and don’t worry about holding their focus for long.

💃 Move It! Movement, especially in the first few seconds, is key. You’re coming to life for someone hovering over a still image—how magical is that?! Plus, our brains are wired to detect motion—we want to follow the action and find out where it goes.

😻 Make It Personal. Like your profile pictures and bio, your vid should showcase your style and personality, albeit in a bite-sized format. Known for your ass? Twerk it! Got tig ol’ biddies? Jiggle ‘em! If your style is soft seduction, show that in the colors, textures, and movements you highlight.

💯 Keep It Simple. You don’t need a professional shoot or technically advanced editing. You just need to show YOU. Try to avoid overthinking it; having something straightforward and short is better than having nothing at all.
