In honor of Black History Month, we’re highlighting a couple of our Black models and what the month means to them.
Lady Mysterious & Miss Joi Amour
What does Black History Month mean to you?
Lady Mysterious: It means to honor the struggle all Black people from different generations throughout US history have gone through, specifically those who helped the movement for racial justice. It also means showing recognition to those who had positive accolades. It’s such an important month in so many ways with so much to be educated on.
Miss Joi Amour: Black History Month is about Black excellence. Your history exerts a direct influence on self-esteem—especially when you’re Black. Thus, we need to know our history, understand political science—from the slave labor that created the ancient pyramids to present-day mass incarceration, betrayal by politicians, and miseducation.
What do you enjoy most about being in the adult industry?
Lady Mysterious: Being able to be my true authentic self and showcasing my creativity, all while not showing my face.
Miss Joi Amour: Learning from other people. It has opened my mind so much that I am non-judgmental. I like to call my friends who are not in the industry “green” or “square” because they judge people by what they are into. I love learning how people got into certain kinks. I love to know what they do for a living. I love to know where they are from. I love to learn about their culture. I love meeting people and learning from other people, so I guess you could say, I love networking! People can be themselves with me. They don't have to pretend to be something they're not because with me, it's a safe place.
Do you have any advice for other Black creators in the industry?
Lady Mysterious: Always stay true to you. Love the skin you’re in. Black is beautiful!
Miss Joi Amour: Love yourself. And add tax and know your worth. Know your power—look at how much Black culture has influenced the sex industry.
Do you have a favorite fetish you play into? Why is it your favorite?
Lady Mysterious: Financial domination. The sacrifice and the power dynamic is what does it for me. And, of course, clients paying me for simply being me.
Miss Joi Amour: I love femdom. Especially as a Black Goddess. I'm so powerful and everyone knows it.
Who or what inspires you? Any creators you want to shout out?
Lady Mysterious: My self-motivation and my drive inspires me. Keeping a positive mindset is key. I want to shout out is Miss Joi Amour—she’s the one that put me on to SP and was really helpful in showing me the ropes.
Miss Joi Amour: I inspire myself. I have to love myself first, and only I can make me happy. Shoutout to Candace Von, Lady Mysterious, Haila Hill, Roxy Le Fox, Nicolette Neptune, Ginger Rae, Maci Wilder, and Madison Montgomery.
Can you share a moment in your career you feel particularly proud of?
Lady Mysterious: 2023 was my first year on SP, and I was in the top 1% of new creators—pretty cool moment to be proud of.
Miss Joi Amour: Since I’ve been in this career since 2011, I'm proud of everything. I’m proud of allowing myself to grow, learn, and adapt. A lot of people fall off. I’m happy I made the transition from in-person to virtual work.

On the browser (app coming soon), you can now begin uploading media and then work on other tasks on the site while that media continues to upload in the background. You can have multiple pieces of media uploading simultaneously—in individual messages, mass messages, and the feed.
Once the upload is complete, you can navigate back to it through the queue, price as desired, and send!
Did You Know? Silent Calls 🤫
When I first started taking video calls, I thought a silent call meant that I was supposed to be silent on the call, and I was thoroughly confused 😅 In case you’re just as confused as I once was, here’s what it is: A silent call is when the model performs but the client does not speak (and may not be on video). Most often, clients request this because they’re in a situation preventing them from making noise—maybe they’ve snuck away to the bathroom at work or their significant other is in the next room.
Some users may specifically request a silent call ahead of time. Use that opportunity to ask what they’re looking for. Other users may call without warning and have their mic (and possibly cam) off. Let them know that they can use the in-call chat feature to communicate. If they don’t give you anything to work with, you can start with whatever a mild, typical show is for you and see if they react in the chat.
If you aren’t comfortable with a silent call, that’s ok too! Just let an inquiring user know that you enjoy the interaction and would rather do a call when you can hear and/or see them. Be honest and clear with your boundaries. If you enjoy silent calls, consider adding that fact to your bio!
